Antony Dundas is a popular British Darts Organisation Referee from Rutherglen, just outside of Glasgow. 'The Pup' as he is affectionately known began playing darts competitively in 2004 at the age of 18 for his local Monday Night team. After a couple of years Antony made his County debut for Renfrewshire. Whilst playing for them he won his first tournament, the Central Open Under 21's in 2007. Following the win 'The Pup' was selected to represent Scotland at the Youth Friendship Trophy in 2007 and 2008, where he played 6 matches – winning 3 of these.
It was during this time that Harlequin Icon Ross Montgomery took Antony under his wing and invited 'The Pup' to travel with him on the BDO circuit. At county level, Antony found that he was pretty handy at calling matches, and at the 2008 Forth Valley Masters he refereed the Under 21's final. Following this he made the switch to represent East Renfrewshire after a few enjoyable years with Renfrewshire and, even though their name has changed to Greater Glasgow, he remains there to this day.
After joining East Renfrewshire, Antony found himself calling more and more games and in January 2012, whilst attending Lakeside as an online journalist for the BDO Forums, he was asked by the Scottish Darts Association (SDA) if he would like to referee at the Scottish Open. In Antony's own words: "It was a wonderful opportunity and I jumped at the chance."
The rest of 2012 was better than Dundas could have ever imagined - after the Scottish Open he was asked by Martin Fitzmaurice if I would like to referee at the BDO British Open. Antony was then called up to the refereeing team for the Winmau World Masters where he had the pleasure of refereeing the second half of the final between Stephen Bunting and Tony O'Shea.
A few weeks later, Antony received a call asking him to referee at the 2013 Lakeside World Championship. Since then he has been an ever-present refereeing, and in his third Lakeside (January 2015) The Pup had the pleasure of refereeing both the Ladies and Men's finals.
Antony is regularly seen wearing the Harlequin Teamwear patch on his suit jacket, and he worn the brands shirts since 2012. He said, "It has also been a pleasure to represent Harlequin and wear their shirts whilst playing over the past couple of years and to use the moniker 'The Harlequin Ref' with pride."
Antony is available to book for exhibitions as either an MC or Referee, and has vast experience in Scotland and the UK, his work also includes events abroad too.
